People of all ages play games, such as board games, card games, computer games and sport games. People like game play for a variety of reasons: as a pastime, as a personal challenge for mental and physical stimulation, to build skills, to interact with others, or simply for fun. With the increasing digitization of our everyday lives, many gamers dive ever deeper into a sea of bits through the limited portals provided by dominant computer-interaction paradigms. The Shared Play group explores how emerging collaborative platforms and technologies can bring game-play back into our physical surroundings and social spaces.
